Craft Breweries in Las Vegas

Food, drinks, gambling, and shows are what Las Vegas, Nevada is known for. It seemed natural to go check out all the breweries this city of sin has to offer. Although, to my surprise you won’t find many Las Vegas craft breweries on the strip of Las Vegas Boulevard. Just be prepared that you may need to venture further out to the Las Vegas Arts District near the iconic Fremont Street. If you are staying on the main Vegas strip having a car will make it easier to get to this area, otherwise a taxi, Uber or Lyft ride will do the trick. Here is the lowdown on the Las Vegas breweries you might want to check out when you are in the area. Get ready to take yourself on a self guided Las Vegas brewery tour and check out all the best craft breweries in Las Vegas to taste some amazing beer. Keep reading to find out more about all the breweries we visited in Las Vegas: Tenaya Creek Brewery, Banger Brewery, Hop Nutz Brewery and Sin City Brewery.

Tenaya Creek Brewery

Address: 831 W Bonanza Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89106

Rating: 5/5

This was one of the top breweries we visited when in vacationing here in Vegas.  The space tap room was so bright and inviting not to mention clean, which was a complete 180 from the dive bar feel of the brewery we checked out right before coming over to Tenaya Creek.  They had a nice seating around in the back overlooking the brewing facility which looks like they still have plenty of room to grow.  I liked all the beer that I tried here and they had a lot of options on tap to choose from so really having someone for almost everyone.  They do not have food here as they focus solely on the beer so grab a bite first.  If you are looking for craft breweries in the area this one is definitely worth checking out.

Banger Brewing

Address: 450 Fremont St. Ste 135 Las Vegas, NV 89101

Rating: 5/5

So glad we made it out to Banger Brewing while visiting Las Vegas.  I would rank this as my favorite craft brewery we checked out in Vegas.  Although after a long Lyft ride where our drivers shortcut turned into taking more than twice as long as it should have to get to Banger Brewing, we at least had some delicious and refreshing beer waiting for us.
We had booked a tour and they were kind enough to accommodate us even with being more than 1/2 an hour late due to our epic journey.  After we learned more about the great beer that they make we each got a flight at the end.  My personal favorite was the Morning Joe which is a coffee kolsch, take it up a notch and order it on nitro and you won't regret it.  This brewery is also right off the iconic Fremont street, so after you drink your beer you can go for a stroll.

Tip: Another beer they serve not to be missed is their El Hefe, which is a jalapeño and pepper infused beer. Be prepared to kick back and enjoy their beer at the brewery as they don’t currently hold the proper license to provide to-go beers. They don’t serve liquor but you can still get shots, they have a very unique Strong Ale beer shot (ABV at a whopping 15%).

Hop Nuts Brewery

Address: 1120 S. Main St Ste 150 Las Vegas, NV 89104

Rating: 3/5

This place had a dive bar type feel with the dark walls and dim lighting.  We ended up parking in the back and weren't exactly sure we were in the right place until seeing the huge mural that is painted on the back of the building.  We picked a door that luckily was the right one that took us into the brewery.

They did not have very many beers to choose from as most of their chalkboard menu had lots of empty spots.  The beers were tried were good but not great and I just wish we would have had a few more options.  We enjoyed our beers on the patio and over a few games of shuffle board.  Overall was a good first stop of the day checking out some of the Arts District breweries just would put them at the top of my list of the Vegas breweries we visited.

Sin City Brewing Company

Address: 3717 Las Vegas Blvd S Harmon Corner Las Vegas, NV 89109 or 3377 Las Vegas Blvd S Las Vegas, NV 89109 (The Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian)

Rating: 3/5

I love craft beer!  Unfortunately, I would not say Sin City's beer would be something I would rate as have good craft beer.  Especially, when compared to other breweries in the Las Vegas area we tried out while in town.

I guess "technically" you could say this is the only brewery on the strip although that is also not entirely true either.  This is not a brewery but instead a bar that serves Sin City Brewing Company's beer.  While I'm sure Sin City Brewing falls into the category/definition of a craft brewery the quality I would not place on par with a lot of other craft breweries out there.  Their beer to me was uninspired.  They get three stars as opposed to two because:
1) The bartender was entertaining and great conversation.
2) The convenience and thought of a "craft brewery" on the strip was also nice.

Although, in retrospect I think I could have gone to a bar to get better craft brewery options or even played some games at the casino for a better tasting beer option.  In the long run it was worth checking out but if you are looking for a good brewery head towards Fremont St for more options!
